Introducing the first in a series of quick, one-sitting noir stories—perfect for wherever you are when the shadows fall.
🕶 Back When the Universe really stood for something
Back in the days when the universe still meant something—say, the 1970s—I was just a suburban kid hanging around a mob bar. It was run by an ex-vice cop from Detroit and his long-suffering wife. The joint was full of characters who looked like they belonged in the trunk of a Buick, not out walking free.
The cop? Once tried to punch his wife, missed, and put a four-inch hole through the men’s room door. Real charming guy.
And me? I was losing my hair so early folks thought I was finishing high school on the GI Bill. What can I say? I was drawn to crime early—and lucky enough never to get caught.
More on that later. Maybe. Depends on your offer of immunity.
🕵️ Why Noir?
Noir speaks to me. Always has. The darker and dirtier, the better.
While the stories in the St. Isidore Noir Collection are technically “fiction,” they all come from true crime—twisted, real cases that stuck with me like smoke in a cheap motel curtain.
And here’s the craziest part:
Most of this shit actually happened.
🔜 Coming Soon
“The Tough Love Cop”The story of a streetwise officer who didn’t want to pull the trigger… but did.
☕ Parting Words
These stories might be short, but they’re cheaper than a latte—and a hell of a lot weirder than anything you’ll find on Netflix tonight.
