Sex Kills, 'Witch' Claims Connect to Missing Woman, and More! Shocking True Crime Newsletter 8-18-20

Florida man who claims to be a “Witch” says he was the last to see missing Georgia woman alive

Broward County authorities arrested Shanon Demar Ryan August 15 on charges of lying to federal officers. Oxygen reports his arrest may or may not be connected to the disappearance of Leila Cavett, a twenty-one-old woman who’s been missing since July 25.

If Ryan’s not a person of interest in this case, he certainly is an interesting person. He not only claims to be a “witch” and “Master of the Occult,” but Ryan also says, “Leila is a witch. A natural witch, so powerful.”

Sex act goes way wrong in Boston

Boston paramedics thought they had a female victim of cardiac arrest on their hands. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner proved them wrong. A twenty-nine-year-old woman, Sarah Dorany, was found dead inside the Verb Hotel on Boylston Street in July. Even though paramedics thought it was a case of cardiac arrest, the ME ruled it a homicide, finding the woman from Maryland was strangled to death.

And, now, the Boston PD has arrested a forty-three-year-old man, Aaron Parsons, charging him with manslaughter. Even though complete details hadn’t been released at this posting, the BPD press release shows the strangulation was probably sex-related.

Sex gone wrong; it happens (again)

This story reads much like the Boston tale of sex gone wrong. But in this case, the alleged killer is a woman, a prostitute actually, with a shaved head, who’s accused of killing a businessman in someone else’s hotel room. Complicated, no? Police are still investigating in Brisbane, Australia.

Doppelgänger killer pleads guilty, Minnesota granny sentenced to two life prison terms

There’s no doubt Lois Riess is going to spend the rest of her days in prison after pleading guilty to shooting her husband, David, in the chest, and leaving him dead on the couple’s bathroom floor.

Lois entered her guilty plea August 11 and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

After Lois killed David, she drove south and killed a woman who bore an uncanny resemblance to herself. Thus, she was branded, The Doppelgänger Killer, by police.

Putting the murder victim back together for his funeral

This is an update on a story I blogged about earlier this month, the murder of a young tech CEO who was found, literally, in pieces in his Manhattan apartment. Fahim Saleh was cut up, dismembered, with a chain saw by a disgruntled employee.

Fahim’s sister told an incredible story to the Daily Beast of how a skilled and powerful mortician sewed her brother’s body back together in time for the funeral.
