Lethal Lady: British Nurse Accused of Killing Babies
Young, attractive, blonde — Lucy Letby may also be lethal. Lucy’s a nurse in England who is accused of killing eight babies and attempting to murder three more, police say.
Cheshire authorities told the world June 13 that “a healthcare professional” had been taken into custody as part of an “ongoing investigation” against them.
The BBC identified that person as Lucy Letby, who was first arrested in July 2018 on suspicion or murder involving the deaths of eight babies at Countess of Chester Hospital.
Seventeen babies died at that hospital between 2015 and 2016. There were 16 non-fatal collapses in the hospital’s neonatal unit from March 2015 to July 2016, according to a BBC report.
Letby had been free on bail since July 2018. She was re-arrested June 13 and charged with the additional crimes.
“This is an extremely difficult time for all the families and it is important to remember that at the heart of this there are a number of families seeking answers as to what happened to their children," Paul Hughes, detective inspector of the Cheshire Constabulary, said in a statement.
“We remain committed to carrying out a thorough investigation as soon as possible and I want to reassure people that we are doing everything we can, as quickly as we can, to identify what has led to these baby deaths and collapses."
Think Lucy Letby's a lethal lady, a psychotic health care professional? She's got nothing on these two nurses' aides
who sealed their love by killing nursing home patients.
